The Melanorosaurus name means Black Mountain Lizard in Greek. This was found out to be a common herbivore sauropod, even though in the past it was named a prosauropod before. The first fossils of Melanorosaurus were found in Lesotho, South Africa.
The dinosaur was first described in 2007 even though fossils were discovered in 1924. Only until 2007 a skull fossil was found.
The Melanorosaurus is described as a large dinosaur(7.5meters long) with a triangular shaped skull. It was likely to walk on all fours such as most Sauropods.
